American Epic, a multi-part documentary, destined for PBS and BBC is on tap to open the Tryon International Film Festival. The film is both produced and narrated by Robert Redford with assistance from Jack White and T Bone Burnett. The film explores the early days electronic audio recording and the distribution of music to the middle class. Asheville, NC plays a part in the film being launched at TRIFF; because of artists that made early recording. Two British filmmakers, Bernard MacMahon and Allison McGourty are on tap to introduce their film, pending schedules.
