Tryon International Film Festival adds Equine category and announces 2017 dates
Now in its third year, TRIFF17 presented by PCFI, proudly announces the dates of the upcoming festival to be held from October 27th to October 29th 2017 in Tryon, N.C.
The 2017 season introduces a new equestrian category dedicated to the health, preservation and wellbeing of the horse, with the tagline “It’s all about the horse”. All genres of films, including documentaries, which respectfully highlight the beauty, health and welfare of the horse, will be considered.
In 2016, TRIFF expanded its categories of submissions from full-length feature films, shorts and documentaries to the highly impactful “Human Rights & Dignity (HRD)” performance category. The impact of this additional grouping resulted in an influx of films from 17 countries.
TRIFF17 will continue to build on HRD’s ever important form of messaging which touches all areas of the globe. Many of the most powerful films in this category vividly reach the viewer’s soul regardless of language translation.
The festival also employs a strategy of direct sourcing of film projects from around the world. This level of film recruitment resulted in fabulous works from industry favorites like Robert Redford, daughter Amy Redford and Cecilia Peck.
Whether the film genre is drama, comedy or environmental, TRIFF17 will continue to encourage and promote woman filmmakers throughout the world, before, during and after each festival run. Many filmmakers from past festivals will be called back as judges, educators and industry supporters.
TRIFF17 will continue to invite local filmmakers to highlight their grassroots efforts, but staff operations will boldly continue to attract and recruit filmmakers, actors, and artists from the world stage, both within the indie-film sector, television, online, interactive, virtual and post-cinematic release.
TRIFF founders promise to the world cinematic community that all marketable film projects will be heavily recruited—not just out of post-production but also in cinematic release as well. Preserving the shelf life of motion pictures is paramount.
