Free Passes Increasing Access to Media Arts for Western North Carolina Youth & Residents
– Polk & Rutherford County North Carolina Residents: Limited supply – this pass allows up to 60 youth and 200 Polk & Rutherford County NC residents with access to TRIFF23 events supported by a grant from Carolina Foothills Foundation.
– Western North Carolina College Students: Students with a valid ID who are attending a western NC college or university may register for free pass (up to 50 students) provided with support from a grant by The Community Foundation of Western NC. Venues include Tryon Theatre (Trade St.), Upstairs Artspace (Trade St,) , Depot Building (Pacolet St) & Tryon Fine Arts Center (Awe Project Student Films on Oct 6 only). TRIFF223 screening and education venues are all located within a central area of Tryon, NC and are walkable. Wear comfortable shoes for sidewalk and roadway walking. Pick up your badge and passes at TRIFF HQ at Tryon 201 (201 Pacolet Street, Tryon, NC). Hours: Thurs, Oct 5 1 PM – 5 PM, Fri, Oct 6 11 AM – 4 PM, Sat, Oct 7 9 AM – 5 PM & Sun, Oct 8 9 AM – 3 PM.
VIP – All Access – Includes all events from Friday evening on: the Gala (Fri), Special Feature Films (Fri & Sat eves), VIP Breakfast (Sun), two days of films, hospitality parties, VIP Lounge, Media Arts Day (Fri), Education Institute & Vendor Expo (Sat & Sun), Awards (Sun) – $150
Gala Pass – Oct 6. events only – Two drink tickets, heavy appetizers, music, special film screening (Fri eve @ Tryon Theatre). The reception is from 5:30 – 8:30 PM with featured film. Featured Film, The Man Who Saved the Game (7 PM – sold out & 9:15 PM PM. This Featured Film will be shown to Festival Gala or VIP pass holders only @ the Tryon Theatre. Badge required to enter. – $100.
Weekend Pass – Pass entitles users to attend the Media Arts Day on October 6 @ Tryon Fine Arts Center (34 Melrose Ave), pick from any film (except Fri opening film), attend Education Institute workshops and visit the Vendor Expo and attend the afterparties at Tryon 201 (201 Pacolet St) and Awards at Tryon Theatre on Sunday evening – $65
Weekend Pass Student (with ID) Pass entitles users to attend the Media Arts Day on October 6 @ Tryon Fine Arts Center (34 Melrose Ave), pick from any film (except Fri opening film), attend Education Institute workshops and visit the Vendor Expo and attend the afterparties at Tryon 201 (201 Pacolet St) and Awards at Tryon Theatre on Sunday evening– $30

Day Pass: Sunday – Pass entitles users to attend the Media Arts Day on October 6 @ Tryon Fine Arts Center (34 Melrose Ave), view any/all Saturday film (except Fri opening film), attend Sunday Education Institute workshops and visit the Vendor Expo and attend the Awards @ Tryon Theatre – $30
Virtual Streaming Pass – for the seven consecutive days after the Festival, October 9 – 16 (Tickets will be available for purchase on or after October 9th)
